Hispanic Ministry

  • About
  • About

    In 2021, seeking to continue our work as a Regional church to be anti-racist and pro-reconciliation, the Arizona Region contracted with Rev. Pedro Ramos-Goycolea and created the Enlace Regional (Regional Liaison) position.

    In this contracted position Rev. Pedro Ramos-Goycolea assisted our Regional Minister and President in several important tasks:

    • bridging gaps between the Region and its Hispanic congregations in communication, understanding, and relationship;
    • finding ways of supporting equity in theological training and education for Spanish speaking leaders and clergy; and
    • strengthening the covenantal relationships between our primarily English speaking congregations and our bilingual or Spanish speaking congregations.

    This work continues to lead us to changes which enrich our Region and support the work of the Convención de Arizona.

    Theological Training and Education

    The Arizona Region is committed to finding ways of supporting equity in theological training and education for Spanish speaking leaders and clergy.

    Future training and education opportunities will be available on this page.

    Bi-lingual Young Adult Retreats

    In September of 2021 the Arizona Region began a series of bi-lingual Young Adult Retreats funded through a Oreon Scott grant. At this retreat young adults from across cultures gathered together as future leaders of the church and discovered ways we might be “the church” together.

    Details on coming retreats and events can be seen on the Retreats page.

    Bi-Lingual Clergy Retreats

    In January of 2023 the Arizona began holding annual bilingual clergy retreats, with intention to provide a space and time for all our Arizona Disciples clergy to rest, renew, and engage with their colleagues.

    Details on coming retreats and events can be seen on the Retreats page.
