Assembly For Our Partners

We are excited to welcome you to our assembly and we believe that your presence contributes to the health and vitality of our Arizona Disciples congregations, enabling them to follow God’s call within their communities. Detailed information is below, including what to do to tell us you will be here and reserve a booth space.

Friday Evening Partner Meal

As a small way of saying thank you to our partners who are able to make the trip we like to hold a partner dinner on Friday just before the start of the Assembly. If you will be in town by Friday afternoon we would love to invite you. We will know more details later, but if you plan to complete please send an email to Rev. Dr. Jay R. Hartley or Matthew Clark.

Booth/table Space

As a partner we will work with you to have a 3-4′ table space available to meet with our Arizona Disciples and display any materials you might with to bring. As the weather is typically nice in Arizona in late October, plan for the table to be outside. Currently we are planning for this to be in the portico at the main entrance to the building (picture below). Both the narthex and fellowship hall are accessible from the portico so it will be a heavily trafficked area.

If you are planning on shipping materials to the host site, please work with Matthew Clark (mclark@azdisciples.org) before shipping. If at all possible, we would prefer to not be in care of items after the assembly.

Preaching and Other Connection Opportunities

Knowing that there is increased cost associated with travel for events like Regional assemblies we are happy to support you in making the most out of your time in Arizona. We would love to connected you with our congregations to preach the Sunday following assembly or arrange visit with their leadership.

Hotel & Host Site

Host Site: Sun City Christian Church (9745 W Palmeras Dr, Sun City, AZ 85373)

We have a group rate on hotel rooms available with the Hampton Inn, Phoenix/Glendale/Peoria at 8408 W. Paradise Lane Peoria, Arizona 85382. The hotel is two miles from the church and while ride share options should be available we are happy to try to work out transportation with volunteers to and from the hotel with advance notice.

The group rate $145/ night rate and is guaranteed for 25 rooms until September 28. If we reach the 25 limit quickly they will open up more rooms, but we recommend booking as soon as possible.

Registration

In 2024 we began an experiment and have offered our Regional Assembly without cost for all who attend, including our partners. Our hope is that this makes our assembly accessible to all of our Arizona Disciples and encourages participation.

As partners we will have you register during the pre-registration period which will begin in August. While there is no cost, the registration helps us plan appropriately for meals and space use.

If you haven’t already, send Matthew Clark (mclark@azdisciples.org) an email with the following information:

1. Name of Ministry
2. Name and title of person attending
3. Organizational logo
4. Dates you will be in Arizona
5. If you would like to be connected with a local congregation for guest preaching or other event
6. If you would like booth/table space
7. If you are planning on shipping materials to the host church
8. If you would like us to arrange volunteer transportation from the Hampton Inn to the host site during your stay.

Additionally, leading up to Regional Assembly we would like to introduce our attendees to our partners. If you can send a picture and short paragraph about yourself and ministry, that would be helpful. Below is an example of what that might look like.

Building and Capital Services Advisor, Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF)

Rev. Rosario Ibarra has been Arizona’s trusted partner with DCEF for many years now, working with many of our congregations on securing loans, investing, and making the most of their building and assets. Be sure to visit Rosario while you are at the assembly and learn about how DCEF can partner with your congregation.

Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF) is a faith and financial ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) whose goal is to help churches identify how they can better utilize the three essential elements of congregational life: people, property, and finance. Disciples Church Extension Fund provides ministry planning services, building and property loans, and investment opportunities to help individuals, congregations, and ministries thrive. 

Our 2026 Assembly will feature three sponsorship opportunities. All sponsor organizations will be included in the schedule and promotion of Assembly and will include a Report and Docket ad space. We welcome multiple partners collaborating for a sponsorship. Please reach out to Matthew Clark (mclark@azdisciples.org) to discuss any of the below options.

SPONSORED Friday Evening Reception: We will begin our Assembly with a Friday evening storytelling event followed by a reception. Typically a sponsor will fund an evening treat for the reception. Approximate attendance: 125 people.

SPONSORED Saturday Morning Clergy and Guest Breakfast: We invite our clergy to a special catered  breakfast with a guest of their choice. This sponsorship includes a brief moment to address the gathered group. Approximate attendance: 50 people.

SPONSORED Saturday All Assembly Lunch: Each assembly we cater in lunch, served buffet style, for the entire gathered assembly. Approximate attendance: 200 people.

The Christian Church in Arizona is excited to be printing a Report and Docket for our up coming Regional Assembly. In this booklet our nearly 200 attendees and over 600 newsletter recipients will have quick access to assembly information, read about Arizona ministry, and have the opportunity to hear from our General Ministries and Partners like you!
