A Reflection from our Regional Minister and President
Our region is a work of beauty, and the first weeks of our journey bear “the good news of the future that has already begun in us.” These stories of our mission and ministry will find even more space/s to be shared with one another. I’ve seen and heard of our communion tables, which are offered and filled with canned goods and non-perishable items for food pantries. The opening of worship with communion in order that our children and youth participate witnessing the grace/s for all of God’s people. The meaningful styles of worship both physical, and in stillness. I hope that you know that you are beautiful. We are all unique with distinctions, which make us beautiful. We are committed to each other, mutually in the same ways we are committed to Christ. I’m honored to listen, witness, and find the faithfulness in our “mutual commitment.”
In the days ahead, there are still many more congregations, clergy, and leaders I look forward to meeting. In the midst of a difficult time of social pain, and confusions we must not forget this “sacred and historic moment” for our creative imagination. We, too have a future to build endlessly for the reign of God among us. Our goal will be to make mission and ministry our center. Where might we find more space to deepen our “mutual commitment”? How might we create and embody even more beautiful works in our midst? Please feel free to email me and introduce yourself and share any questions that you may have.
