Clergy Lunch and Conversation

All clergy are invited to join Rev. Dr. Todd A. Adams, President and CEO of Pension Fund of the Christian Church for lunch and conversation on challenges facing clergy today and how Pension Fund is repositioning Ministerial Relief and Assistance to help meet those challenges. In 2020, Ministerial Relief and Assistance will celebrate the first gift to Rhoda Jane Castle Chase i, widow of Rev. Ira Chase and our roots as the Board of Ministerial Relief and Assistance. In 125 years, the needs have changed, and we want to work with you to help bridge the road to financial wellness, through revamped programs that seek to meet today’s needs of clergy, as well as our traditional retirement programs.

Church Governance Workshop

Rev. Dr. Todd A. Adams, President and CEO of Pension Fund of the Christian Church for a conversation on Congregational Governance and best practices, including a section on the sacred theology of financial best practices. Dr. Adams is a certified governance trainer for Board Source, the leading consulting organization on non-profit governance in the United States. Dr. Adams will talk about best practices, how we can meet less often with more meaning, and creative ways to lead the church today. When Todd was the Senior Minister of Memorial Drive Christian Church in Houston, the congregation grew from 120 in worship to 330 in worship, while shrinking the board from 85 to 24 and moving from 14 committees to 5 ministry teams.

“It only takes a spark to get a fire going.” Together, we dreamed and re-imagined…

An Open Letter to Arizona Disciples

On May 21, 2017, First Christian Church, Glendale gathered and voted to cease its visible ministry in the Fall of 2017.  The congregation named our region (Christian Church in Arizona) as its successor (minutes on file), and empowered its Chair of Trustees, to negotiate its final desires.  Our office has been able to walk along side, and care for the leadership and congregation beyond its last celebrated worship service on October 15, 2017.

Our Mission is to create an environment and relationships

in which congregations and leaders are called,

supported and equipped for congregational mission

and ministries which are transforming, growing and faithful.
